√ Pinterest - Products, Places And People I Love

√ Follow Me on PinterestDo you create vision boards? Do you have images, thoughts and things you love and want to gather in one place? Well look no further than this new "networking" site. I know, another site to keep track of. . . . Well, this one is different. It's mostly visual and it gives you a beautiful place to gather all your online "stuff".

1. Pinterest - Products, Places And People I Love
My boards on Pinterest

This photo is of my boards on Pinterest I can create as many as I'd like and "pin" whatever makes me happy on those boards. Books, people, recipes, fashion can all be categorized as I see fit and kept for future reference. The best thing is, it's all VERY visual. Whatever I post should have an image attached to be easily found when I return to my profile. Therefore, it becomes a lovely place to take mini "journeys" into.

Following others is a great way to find new items to re-post to your boards and having others follow you is an easy way for you to share whatever information you'd like. BTW if you're on Pinterest, I'd love to have you follow me, I will definitely follow back. On Pinterest, you never know what's going to develop so it's just fun to see where others gain their inspiration and what they have to say.

It's different, it's free and it's fun! Let's get pinning!

√ Pinterest Project - Melted Crayon Art

√ So, I've talked to you about Pinterest in this post. I know you've read it because I've gotten quite a few followers since that post. . . but if you haven't read it or started following me, here's your chance. Anyway, as I've been going through Pinterest and finding all sorts of lovely things, I've determined that if I don't get started on some of the items I've pinned on my "Cool Ideas" board, I'll get terribly behind and my kids will be too big to do them with me. Therefore, I decided to start and see if we can get on a roll!

Our first project from the board was the crayon melting project. My son is 5 years old and loves all things fast, furious, scary and destructive. So when I told him what we were going to do, after I purchased all the needed supplies, he was gung ho and ready to go! The project came from this site and looked so cool, I just had to try it.

1. Pinterest Project - Melted Crayon Art
First we gathered our supplies, crayons and a canvas. The nice thing about this project is, it didn't cost much. The crayons were less than $2 and the canvas was a small one bought in pairs so it was about $7. Then I had a blow dryer and a willing 5 year old!

2. Pinterest Project - Melted Crayon Art

I taped the crayons to the canvas (I'll have to do it a bit better next time) and gave my son his "gun" to shoot. We were off. As the colors began to melt, he asked me to do it while he just watched the action and it was so much fun seeing his little face light up with awe and intrigue.

Some things I learned in this process: 1) there is a reason you tape the whole crayon to the canvas and not half-way like I did, it keeps things neater; 2) having a larger canvas is certainly worth it since the wax can "fly" depending on how you position your "gun"; 3) crayons melt fast!

When we were done we had a really cool work of art that we now display in his "art display" area and he just loves to tell those who see it how it was done!

So there you have it, we are on our way to getting through my cool board one project at a time. . . and it makes for some great mommy and son bonding time!

Next project was wall painting!

√ Pinterest Project - Apple Smiles

√
1. Pinterest Project - Apple Smiles
Last week I started telling you about the projects I've found on Pinterest that I've decided to try in real life. The last time it was a crayon project, this time it was a food project. I don't really have a problem getting my son to eat fruits, he's a big fan, but I figured he'd really get a kick out of making these cute apple smiles (or what turned into creepy smiles) so close to Halloween.

So while his cousin was visiting I decided we'd make these after Tae Kwon Do practice. We stopped at the supermarket to get some apples because we already had the peanut butter and marshmallows at home. Once we got home we got busy.

I cut the apples and made the first one so they could see how it was done, and after that they had a blast putting them together and eating them. It was the perfect snack full of giggles and fun. I will certainly do this again when I get the chance. . . after I've exhausted all other Pinterest projects, of course! Here are some photos of our adventure!

√ Pinterest Inspiration - Colorful Cupcakes Fun!

√ A few weeks ago on Pinterest I saw this amazing project with colored cake! Kids love color, so I thought it would be a great project to do with my son over the weekend, when we get the best chance for fun baking, and enjoy the process as well as the eating.

The project that was pinned was from Hostess With The Mostess' blog. She in turn credited The Omnomicon for posting this How to Make a Rainbow Cake Tutorial for weight watchers. Although the cake was a "diet" cake, no one in my family is on a diet so I just used the color idea and went for it.

I don't think I have to give you the play-by-play because the images will speak for themselves! Just know it was  a fun easy project that kept us busy for a couple of hours and happy with snacks for a few days!

√ Pinterest Project Weekend

√ This past weekend, besides being Easter, was also the weekend we celebrated my baby girl turning 1 year old! So, both Saturday and Sunday were filled with family fun and activity. Prior to the weekend I took on Pinterest to see if there were any projects I could effectively pull off and found that with a bit of help there was plenty I could do.
1. Pinterest Project Weekend
Found on Pinterest from Budget Bytes
First, on Saturday we were haveing family over after church to celebrate our little girl's dedication. I wanted to feed everyone, but I didn't want to fuss over a stove for a long time since I also had to entertain and do plenty of other things. So my sister and I made these lovely lasagna roll-ups and my sister-in-law make an amazing salad and we got rave reviews! Making these roll ups was one of the best ideas ever! We went out to purchase the ingredients and it took us about 2 hrs to get them all made and ready.

We put a lot more filling in each roll so they looked a bit "fatter" than these and they were yummy. So after having been throughly impressed with myself, I was very confident I could pull off the next two projects which were to take place the following day.

2. Pinterest Project Weekend
Idea on Pinterest recipe at Betty Crocker
On Easter Sunday we celebrated our baby girl so for her cake I had no desire, or time to bake a full cake and frost it. So I found images of these on Pinterest and decided they would be perfect. . . they were! It was so easy for my little girl to hold and eat her cake without making a huge mess and without having to stay in her "seat" she walked around with it and ate without getting it all over everything. All the kids (and the adults) loved the idea.

3. Pinterest Project Weekend
Idea found on Pinterest via Martha Stewart
Finally for decorating, I found these daffodil cutouts and thought it would be great so I downloaded the template, printed it and cut them out. They turned out really cute for a spring birthday party.

So there you go! My weekend brought to you by Pinterest. If you haven't joined yet, let me know and I'll send you an invitation (the easiest way to get on), then follow me and share what you love!
